Prenatal massage

You’re doing something amazing. Feel supported in return with prenatal massage, a therapeutic massage designed for pregnant women during their journey through pregnancy, available upon request at Massage Envy franchised locations.

Adapted massage techniques for your changing body

Your body goes through a lot when you’re expecting. A massage during pregnancy can help ease tension or everyday aches and pains you may be carrying due to the physical demands of pregnancy.

Performed in a side-lying position with belly support, a prenatal massage applies therapeutic pressure and blends techniques across various massage modalities to address your primary concerns. It commonly focuses on key areas affected during pregnancy including the lower back, neck, shoulders, hips, legs and feet.

Find relief and restore calm

As your pregnancy progresses, so does the potential strain on your body, which a massage can help address. Best of all, both you and your baby can benefit from the relaxation.

Health info to keep in mind

Ideal time range

Always consult your doctor before booking a prenatal massage. Depending on your pregnancy history and current health, your doctor may provide instructions on when it’s appropriate for you to receive massage. Something to be aware of: if you’re prone to nausea during your first trimester, it may be best to avoid booking a massage until regular bouts of nausea subside.

What to look out for

If you experience any sudden swelling, severe headaches, leg pain or tenderness, cramping, dizziness, or bleeding during your session, notify your massage therapist immediately and have them stop your session. Contact your health care provider as well.
