Support
Our policies require franchisees to treat victims with the utmost compassion. For instance, upon receiving any complaint involving inappropriate conduct, franchisees must make available a brochure containing pertinent information including the contact information for local law enforcement and the licensing or certification board. The brochure also contains the information for a sexual assault hotline, as well as contact information for the franchise location owner.

Massage Envy’s Commitment to Safety takes an approach that works to be sensitive to the needs of victims.
Key Points
Franchisees are required to treat victims with sensitivity including when they make a complaint involving sexual misconduct.
Franchisees are required to provide to any person making a complaint involving inappropriate conduct a resource brochure specifically developed by Massage Envy. This resource brochure is required to provide contact information for local law enforcement, the relevant licensing board, and the franchise location owner. It also contains information for RAINN’s National Sexual Assault Hotline. The hotline provides an anonymous link to a local sexual assault service provider who is trained to support victims of sexual assault.
Franchises are required to offer a private room for the victim, and the victim can choose to notify the authorities or anyone they choose in private.
Based on the guidance from leading sexual assault experts, including RAINN, it is our policy to respect the victim’s privacy and their right to decide whether they would like to report to law enforcement, the state board, or anyone else. This victim-centered approach considers the effects of trauma and empowers the victim to make critical decisions on their own behalf to promote emotional healing.
