Sunitha is a passionate activist dedicated to improving the lives of all vulnerable populations. She has 15 years of experience of successful and effective project management, program development, policy development and analysis, in-person and online training, and crisis intervention within the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) is the nation’s largest anti-sexual violence organization. RAINN created and operates the National Sexual Assault Hotline and Online Hotline in partnership with over 1,000 local sexual assault providers around the country and operates the DoD Safe Helpline providing support services to the military community. The Consulting Services Department works with clients across public, private, and nonprofit sectors to develop targeted, effective sexual violence education and response programs. To ensure clients are prepared to provide education and respond to incidents in a way that promotes safe and healthy communities, the Consulting Services Department offers a variety of specialized services, such as policy analysis and development, program assessments, hotline services, and education and Training. As the Chief of Consulting Services Operations, Sunitha is responsible for leading and managing all client services and project teams. Sunitha ensures that a victim-centered and trauma-informed approach is taken when working with all clients and ensuring the effective delivery of all projects. Outside of managing the project teams, Sunitha is the senior training and as such, has conducted in-person and online trainings for groups between ten and 1,000 attendees. The sexual violence prevention and response trainings are provided for varied sectors including the cruise line industry, health and wellness organizations, educational institutions, the entertainment industry, and law firms, to provide attendees with actionable skills for improving safety within their communities. Prior to her work at RAINN, Sunitha worked for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, Head Start, and Big Brothers Big Sisters. These experiences expanded upon her knowledge of how to provide tailored services to different sectors, clients, and communities utilizing a victim-centered and trauma-informed way. Sunitha holds her Bachelors in Sociology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, her Master of Science in Social Work from Columbia University, and she is a License Master Social Worker in New York State.
