When did you decide to pursue a career in massage therapy?
In 2005, I decided to pursue a career in massage therapy because I wanted to give back. I wanted to work with women in addiction and who had been abused.

Describe your experience at massage school. What did you like about it?
I loved how the instructors shared their passion for massage therapy.

What excites you most about working at a Massage Envy franchised location?
Most of my excitement is working with different people: young, elderly, athletes, people recovering from injuries.

Please tell us about a day where you felt especially proud about the work that you do?
The day I received a note mailed to my Massage Envy franchised location from a client thanking me for all the work we had done and expressing how it helped her to move forward in a safe and healing way.

When are you happiest at work?
I'm the happiest when I'm in my zone and everybody gets what they ask for. That makes me very happy!

Yes, I have taken the free CEs through Massage Envy. And I love it. Meeting other therapists from other locations is pretty awesome, as well as growing the skills in my toolbox.

What's the best part about living in North Carolina? Tell us something about it that others living outside the state might not know.
The best part about this state for me is the mountains and the ocean. Those are two of the best places to get your Zen on. There's lots of interesting facts about NC. But one fun fact others might not know is that ”The University of North Carolina's mascot, the Tarheels, is a nickname for North Carolinians that supposedly came from the days when NC produced a lot of tar, and someone saw a set of footprints made by someone who had stepped in the tar.”

What advice would you give someone just starting their career in massage therapy?
The advice I would give is to never forget your 'why'! Why you chose the massage therapy profession and why you choose a Massage Envy franchised location to share your passion.

What are your favorite hobbies and interests outside of work?
I love working in my yard and taking trips home to Indiana and Ohio to see my kids and grandkids.
